The Reverse L grid pattern is named after its static segment, which resembles the shape of a horizontally flipped letter "L".

The pattern uses a MIC grid layout and indirectly encodes information into a base-4 number system. On one A4 size document, the MIC of the Reverse L pattern is printed approximately 230 times.
